Dr Deb The Travel Doctor
Dr Deborah Mills (MBBS, MPHTM) is one of Australia’s leading experts in travel medicine, with over 37 years of experience helping travellers stay healthy overseas. Dr Deb has authored the internationally recognised guide Travelling Well, now in its 22nd edition with more than 235,000 copies in print worldwide. The book, available in print and digital formats, has become the go-to reference for Australians heading abroad. She has also developed digital tools for travellers, including the Travel Health Guide app and the Vaccine Record app.
Her work combines clinical expertise, academic research, and lived experience. She has presented at global conferences, lectured at universities, and published widely on topics ranging from rabies vaccination to malaria prevention. She also serves as a Senior Researcher at CRESTMA and is a Fellow of both the Australasian College of Tropical Medicine and the International Society of Travel Medicine .
Beyond the clinic and lecture theatre, Dr Deb has travelled extensively across all seven continents. Her philosophy is that travel should be a force for good — benefiting both the traveller and the communities they visit. With her guidance, travellers gain more than just vaccination schedules; they gain confidence, safety, and practical strategies to make the most of every journey.
